Dorin really shows more personality than any of the other preschoolers on the street. Why would Alina call StreetCars? Surely there’d be a good chance the driver would know her. I think her storyline will be around for awhile as I’m sure the case at trial didn’t find everyone involved in the trafficking so she may remain vulnerable.
DS Swain may also be in danger in the future as I think she was tempting fate by saying she would take a bullet for Betsy.
The verbal exchanges between Steve & Cassie reminded me of some of those between Steve and Tracy. I find the easy companionship between Cassie & “Kenny” so unusual as Ken has always been such a snob.
I looked up Eye Gaze to see if it was a real thing which it is but super expensive. Would NHS have paid for it?
I agree Rowan was setting up Leanne with the investor meeting Can’t remember the line but there was something said in their conversation that made me think he and Rowan had done business many times before.
I agree it’s odd Ken isn’t snobby with Cassie. But then again I think he still fancies himself a ladies’ man so maybe it’s just instinct to be charming with her 😄
If Paul has it it would for sure be NHS. Very possible they would find that sort of thing as the situation is uncommon (meaning they aren’t paying for thousands of them)? I do feel with his condition the writers are (hopefully!) trying to portray reality with this.
I'm hoping this isn't the end for Paul, but if it is, I envision Bernie showing up and being with Paul and Kit at the end, and hopefully it mends their relationship, even a little bit. It's a little far fetched, but a girl can dream!
Fiz is being the Voice of Reason in the Tyrone/Alina/Dorin storyline. It's a good thing someone can be a little rational, despite being worried of the fallout. The kid that plays Dorin is a natural. Such a cutie pie!
Should be interesting to see if Swain's daughter (Brain Fart, can't think of her name) tries to get Joel in trouble with the law, or if she'll just double down by telling Joel that if he wants to keep out of jail, his extortion fees have just been doubled.
I agree that they are already starting to soften the Mason character. He's smiling occasionally, which is a refreshing change. If he knows what's good for him, he'll steer clear of Swain's daughter. She'll have him up to no good in no time!
I think Steve and Cassie will likely end up having some sort of fling, but it will fizzle out quickly. Steve just isn't the Casanova he thinks he is. :)
Loving the sibling relationship between Nick and David. If Rowan tells Leanne about Nick and Toyah, he will lose his hold over Nick, and never get that investment money from him. He's got to keep quiet so he's got something to hold over Nick's head. Once Nick breaks the news to Leanne, Rowan will be out of luck as far as getting any cash from Nick.
I'm sure I'll think of more stuff I wanted to say as soon as I hit the post button. I try to multi-task and use my elliptical while I'm listening to the podcast, and it makes it impossible to take notes. Believe me, I need notes. lol
I agree - it seems to be set up for Bernie and Kit to be with Paul either at the end or in a crisis. I appreciated Kit's confessions to Paul about himself - very introspective and obviously trusts him to say that.
I'd like to see Nick confess to Leeanne and then let her see how Rowan has been using it. It's asking a lot of her but would certainly be a good test and proof about the Institution. Hopefully everyone gets to keep their money! I wonder if Toyah feels the same way about Nick that he does for her - I'm not so sure.
Peter Ash (Paul) is outstanding. Incredible acting. In his admission (“not a nice person”) Kit showed a different side, but I’m rooting for Swain to take him down eventually when his corrupt ways really emerge.I like the much cleaned up Cassie (and noticed she continued the next day with the new improved version). I’m starting to to warm to the character. Ty handled his DNA test attempt of Dorin so amateur. No brains, that one. I liked the Fiz/Evelyn scenes a lot — a true mother/daughter relationship there. Max really has Lauren’s back. I hope his next storyline doesn’t return him to the dark side. I sgree about Mason — he’ll be transformed into a good ‘un before we know it.
I hope the whole Joel thing crashes soon. That's one thing Corrie is always good at, the crashes.
I love the Steve/Cassie dynamic. Steve has always been best with slightly off balance women like Karen and Tracy.
I've recently been watching The Good Ship Murder on BritBox in which Cassie plays the cruise director. The actress is gorgeous when she's not dirtied down. The first officer is played by the actress who played Eva. One of our favourite family games when watching British tv is trying to guess where we know that actor from. Inevitably, it comes back to Corrie.
I just want to say thank you again, Mr. Brittlestar and Mrs. Shannon, for creating this community. For fourty years, I've wanted a place to discuss the happenings on the Street. Thank you also to the members who refresh my memory of the history.
I saw Cassie/actor on another show too, can't recall what it was now but she was definitely fancier looking. I still don't like the Cassie character - too sneaky. She rejected Steve outright at the speed-dating but now seems interested? Flighty! I guess that makes them a match!
We also love it when we catch former Corrie stars on other shows. Happy Valley is great and has a roll with Katherine Kelly who was Becky. And more recently Michelle Keegan (Tina) was in Fool me Once on Netflix which we enjoyed so much we went down a rabbit hole of the authors other series.
Mark & I play that game too and it does usually end with “yes but who were they on Coronation street?” Summer Wine’s Auntie Wainwright (Hilda), the despicable Thomas on Downton Abbey (Liam Connor Sr), Selfridge’s Lady Mae (Becky) and Murdoch’s Inspector Brackenreid ( Tommy ??, father of Katy who was having an affair with Martin Platt) to name a few. We also have spotted Leanne in the first Hetty Wainwright ok and a very young Tyrone in a Heartbeat episode.
We assumed that the 'financial advisor' that Amy talked to was an Institute plant. And were so pleased when Adi talked her out of it. We really enjoyed the scene with Leanne telling Mr. Frosted Tips that she couldn't talk and him stomping off down the street. He's getting frustrated trying to get this money out of Nick. I think its all going to blow up pretty quick
I originally wanted to know why the heck was Eileen or Fat Brenda not manning the switch at Street Cars but my lovely wife reminded me that Jason fell in Thailand and Eileen has gone to help him out. I always find it odd that some characters are constantly trying to find work while there seems to be jobs available for shifts on the Street. Could they not hire Gemma to help out? Doesn't she just work at the Rovers now? We never see her at the Kabab shop anymore. Is it just Chesney holding the fort down there? Cathy is gone. How can Dev leave that place understaffed.
Also MUGS! My Sister-in-law found me a mug with poppies on it that is very close to the one that Ken always drinks out of. However I would LOVE a Webster's Garage mug to add to my collection. There needs to be more Corrie merch out there.

I hope nothing happens to Alina because I don’t think Dorin would be safe living in the same house as Hope.
I think Kit will pretend to get along with Bernie for Paul’s sake.
It’s time for Lauren to tell someone about Joel.

Oooh hadn’t occurred to me that Toyah might not feel the same!
I do think she does though. I think she just carries around more guilt than Leanne (despite the fact she dated Lee’s ex Peter on the sky previously!)
it's a round robin dating party on the Street! But yeah, she wants to save Leeanne more than she wants Nick, at this point perhaps.
Steve is SO not in any Casanova league. LOL. Loved that though -- thanks for the giggle. And yes, the Nick/David sibling support is lovely to see.

Thanks as always for your recaps.

The actor that plays Stu was on Ted Lasso in the beginning, played the coach that they replaced.

I recently watched The Madame Blanc Mysteries which has Sally Lindsay (previously Shelley on Corrie 2001 to 2006). She plays a great detective!
Anna in Downton was Zoe on Corrie.
You’re a bit off with your UK geography. Hastings is on the south coast in East Sussex near where the Battle of Hastings took place.
I was going off where R3 was buried - zero clue where it is. Thank you!
…. Closer to Portsmouth than Manchester…..
