When Tim and Sally got out of the cab and Kirk was in the back... Where the heck was Beth? Did they leave her at the Tommy O gala?

Loved the Cocoon reference! And Tim's 'half clapping' at the ceremony.

Best plot twist in a long time:

D. I. Swain’s daughter vs Joel.

There was an entire scene with his dad where Joel would not look him in the eye. It was very distracting; so red herring or a clue to something?

Just when I was beginning to think Kit was a good person after all…

Steve’s facial hair is making him look quite distinguished. I was pleased he acknowledged Andy’s existence on their birthday. We don’t hear about him or Liz very often.

If Tommy O was the be all and end all of Weathy County you’d think there would have been more than a dozen people at that reception.

I was tired of the George & Glenda battle. I hope this has settled the matter so we can all move on. At this point I wouldn’t even mind if she and Michael got back together.

Poor Toyah, after all those failed IVF treatments with previous partners.

For humour I liked Toya’s comment about the mice throwing themselves into the traps. Also Amy’s line about how could she be offended with Tracy as her mom.

Yes I like that he mentioned Andy. Is Liz not living out there with him though? Weird they don’t bother mentioning her. And Jim. I think he’s in jail? No calls or visits?

Yes, Liz is in Spain with Andy. The last time we saw Jim he was out of jail but scamming Liz into thinking his accomplice was their daughter thought to have died at birth. In the end I think he and the girl lit out to Ireland. Maybe he’ll cross paths with Alya.

My favourite line was Casie referring to Brian, Ken & Rita as the cast of Cocoon. I hope Amy isn't falling for Rowan's claptrap or hand over any of Deidre's money and I don't think she will. I think DS Swain's daughters name is Becca and that was a big surprise for sure.

Yes Becca may be correct! I knew I should have written it down when i heard it!

I'm going to spill the beans - her name is Betsy! Sorry, got that from new episodes so I know you'll find out soon enough.

Yes I wrote BETSY in big letters on my notepad!

I agree with Shannon about the humour finally coming back to the episodes. It's been a long wait. My favourite line was from Tim when Sally was going on and on about Angle-ah. "oh, I thought you were talking about her face!" lol

There's a few can of worms about to be opened. Toyah's pregnancy "who's the daddy speculation", Kit's newfound relationship with his siblings, and DS Swain's daughter and her extortion of Joel. It should make for some good watching over the next few weeks.

I'd comment on Glenda, George, and Michael, but I just don't care. They all need to grow up. When Michael is the voice of reason, you know things are bad.

I loved Sally's get rid of the bench bit. She has always had delusions of grandeur. I also loved the head in the bed.

As soon as Toyah had the first pain, I yelled out "Ectopic pregnancy!".

My poor Steve! I just want to give him a big hug.

Is anyone other than me furious and frustrated that, yet again, CBC messes with our scheduling for Olympics? Corrie is always the first scheduling victim for this and for hockey playoffs.

Having been through an Ectopic pregnancy and almost losing my wife I'm afraid your right and next week is going to be very difficult to watch. That was also my first thought as soon as Toyah had the pain.

I'm so sorry for you and your wife. Strength to you both as you experience the next few episodes.

I think DS Swain’s daughter’s name might be Betsy.

You would think Paul and Gemma would want to hear Bernie’s story. Instead they are behaving like children and believing everything this stranger is telling them.

My favourite was Tim getting ready for a quick one upstairs and Sally yelling that Come Dine With Me show had already started.

First class acting all around.

Random thoughts….

I wish Dolly Rose Campbell (who is 37), the writers and directors would have Gemma act her age and not some 16 yr old sitting cross legged on the sofa arm at Paul’s & Billy’s. The quad squad will act like they’ve been raised by wolves, as they get more screen time. Joseph has more maturity than Gemma. Gemma’s and Paul’s over reaction to Kit’s “truth” about Bernie was childish, especially given that Paul is dying. As Brittlestar says, Kit is not to be trusted. He should also have better judgement as a detective than to throw Bernie under bus in such a devious way.

The shoe shop owner totally reminded me of smarmy Steffan. But good on Kit for at least stopping the theft charges against Gemma.

Kit is dark like Joel, I think.

A police detective dies earn a good salary. Lisa’s daughter is the latest in a long Corrie line of troubled teenaged girls though.

And yes, Adam has been living in DeeDee’s flat up to now.

I had that same thought watching Gemma on the couch - she plays a 33 year old on the show, too. I wish they'd explain the makeup? yikes.

I think the makeup is part of the whole Gemma look. As far back as I can remember, she's always had that harsh line where her make-up ends along her jaw. It's probably supposed to show that she never took the time to learn how to do her makeup properly, and just doesn't care or realise how it makes her appear to others.

Yes, that must be the case! It just seems like it's more obvious to me lately. I'd have to really jog my memory (or look it up) to remember Gemma's younger years.

I was going to google when Gemma appeared on the screen, but every time I try googling, I see a spoiler, so I've given up. lol

I have noticed that some days it's not quite as bad as others, but it's always there.

I know, I don't want spoilers either! I did look up Gemma's history, though, on a Coronation Street wiki page - she's been on the show since 2014. The page says it doesn't have any spoilers for UK viewers and her basic history doesn't have anything new. I'm sure it exists elsewhere, though, it's a very detailed website!
