First off, I want to say Brittlestar was fairly correct in his usage of the word Peccadillo. It means a minor indiscretion, although falling into bed with the wrong sister is hardly minor in my books! lol.
I thought this week's episodes were just sad in general. Other than Sally's frisky behavior in the cab office, there wasn't much humour at all. The storylines were very depressing, with Chesney and Gemma leading the race. My heart was breaking for them. I like Shannon's idea of Linda buying the house. Maybe she can do it before they object to her help, and then she can state that as the new landlord she will be lowering their rent, and also considering the payments as "rent to own". That way Ches and Gemma get to stay in their place, they will eventually own the home, and Linda will recoup her investment. Ches & Gemma need to listen to Cassie's advice to Ken with regards to accepting help. They need to stop thinking of it as charity, and accept the help it for what it is: a kindness to the people who are offering to help out in the situation.
I'm also tired of the deepfake video storyline. Kevin taking matters into his own hands was ridiculous.
I'm hoping that Joel offering help to Sabrina will end up being his downfall. It's time for the whole Lauren/grooming/murder storyline to come to a close (if she actually is dead). Sabrina is a pretty smart cookie, and I think something Joel says will twig her memory of something about Lauren and she'll be able to put 2+2 together and go to the police with a tip that will break the case.
It's so difficult watching Paul's decline and Billy slowly shutting down all of his emotions. It really makes me sad.
I just about screamed at Ken when he handed Cassie the key to the house. I don't think any good will come of it. But to be fair, he seems to be enjoying her company so I guess it's a good thing. As for Steve and Cassie.......ick ick ick. They have even less chemistry than Michael and Glenda. What are the writers trying to do, send us all around the bend with mis-matched couples?
Hopefully this week's episodes are a little lighter. There was just too much doom and gloom last week for my liking.
Will Stefan’s phone connect him to the sex trafficking?
I thought Sabrina would have more street smarts than to accept alcohol offered by strange men.
Please, not Steve & Cassie. It was hard enough to believe the Barlows would hire a drug addict with no qualifications to care for Ken. I don’t think this is a relationship that would make Tracey jealous.
I am confused by the eviction storyline as I thought Chesney lived in council (public) housing.
One child care mystery solved. Alfie’s carer is Wendy Crozier, though she has a different last name now; one of the many women in Ken’s past. She turned up as the social worker assessing Abi’s fitness as a parent after Alfie was born and she and Abi became good friends.
So, what is it about all those women and the Barlow men? I wouldn’t fancy any of them except for maybe Adam if he’s having a good hair day.
Glad we weren't the only ones looking at each other lost over this 'landlord' We could have sworn the house belonged to the council as well! Linda or Dev have to buy the place for sure. And I'm betting it will be Linda.
Shannon - I could tell you were Amy! Perfect face, too - sneer, shifty eyes, all of it. I recognized Tyrone after I knew!
Somehow I missed an entire episode last week and wasn't able to find it anywhere. However, with your update and the episodes that followed I feel caught up.
Agreed - very sad and convincing for Chesney and Gemma but surprised that she would steal the shoes! I can sense all the desperation, though. Linda buys the house - interesting theory. Don't tell Gemma - hire a manager/in-between.
The Stefan story is just so weird... and a newbie's security card gets into the boss's office?? Really? Kevin and Bethany - what stupid ideas they have. What did Bethany really think might happen?
DeeDee and Joel - none of that makes sense. Is it her resemblance to his ex? And now Sabrina? And right in his own neighborhood, too.
Cassie and Steve - why is everyone pushing them together - ewww. It must be "bad couples" month for the writers. It's time for a nice romance. Maybe Nick and Toyah will have a happy ending.
It's good to see the manipulation of the Institute in action. Hopefully Toyah will show Leanne the PDA she had to sign... once she's confessed her transgressions. Sam cracks the cult - I like that idea - hope so!
Sally and Tim - love to see that role-playing passion! You're so right - it's just not what you expect from such an upstanding citizen!
OK weirdest bit of writing/acting we've seen on Corrie in a long time was Leanne offering 'bubbles' to Nick and Toyah with 2 glasses in her hand, to which they say sure, only for her to then turn around and walks away!!!! I get that it was so they could have a couple 'secret' words together standing at the Bistro bar but it was just SO oddly performed.
Another great wrap up as usual!

I had kind of forgotten that Sabrina and Lauren ended up quite good friends so you’re right - maybe Sabrina will bring about his downfall!
maybe she'll string him along!
That would be such fun to watch!
Does anyone else think that Tyrone should be fired for opening up emails with attachments from unknown sources!😂
OMG, rule # 1!!!

Ooooh yes Wendy - thank you! Also I agree with you on all aspects of the Barlow men’s appeal 😄

As long as Ken doesn’t wear that kimono again - I’m ok. Those are things you can’t unsee
Thanks for reminding me of Wendy Crozier. I remember it now!
My heart was breaking for Gemma and Ches. As a young parent, I've been there. Things feel so overwhelming that you can't see straight.

Thanks again!
You mean the NDA. The PDA is what she’s being blackmailed for 😁
ha, you're right - must keep my acronyms straight!
Yes, Shannon’s Amy sneer was perfect.
Bad couples months! Love it!!
Sam said he was working with Leanne on something for Hope. I bet it's an AI of John Stape!
Oh my now there’s a thought!!
