Thank you Brittlestar and Shannon for another great episode. I look forward to them every week. Carla will never get her money back. Daisy is unemployed and Jenny works for Carla. I’m sure she doesn’t rake in big tips. Wouldn’t it have made more sense to sell the pub? It was good to see Rita spell it out to Jenny that she was just as much to blame. I can see Roy’s decision to take in Lauren’s “mother” going horribly wrong.

Exactly, why wasn’t Carla’s first thought to sell the pub to get her money back in the foreseeable! And somehow there was enough money leftover from the pub purchase to allow Carla to buy the factory? Something’s wrong with this math. 😉

That’s a really good point. Also what happened to the money Jenny got when she sold the pub last year?

I think the pub was just taken away from Jenny wasn’t it? Or did they have a deal that fell through? So much happens in Weatherfield it’s hard to keep track.

Oooh yeah! The brewery seemed to own it in some capacity however all the landladies have obviously had to buy into it over the years. Surely she would have picketed something?!?

Woot, pocket casts! Another fine episode 👏. I’m not usually the biggest Audrey fan but her talk with Maria was a lovely moment.

Revealing to Maria what she went though was very touching. I think Audrey sees Maria as one of her own grandchildren after all these years.

Maria would be the least problematic of all Audrey’s grandchildren 😄

I think Lauren's "mother" is an undercover reporter for a rag. This will not end well. Rita has pull with Jenny as her former foster mom. Also, Jenny feels indebted to Rita because of her father's abuse of Rita. It caused Rita to have a mental breakdown and he nearly killed her. As always, I so enjoy this gathering every week, so thank you!

Wait I knew Rita took Jenny in / raised her for a bit but I am unaware of the whole Rita and Jenny’s dad storyline?! Please elaborate!

When Jenny was in foster care with Rita, her long absent father Alan turned up. He and Rita became an item. He eventually became abusive to Rita and forged her signature to re-mortgage her house to fund his failing alarm business. All of this caused Rita to have mental breakdown. She thought she was still Rita Littlewood, cabaret singer, as she had been in her younger years. Rita took off to Blackpool, with Alan close behind. Rita's friend Bet Lynch also went to Blackpool to find her and get her to safety. Before Bet could get her to safety, Alan found Rita and chased her across the street, running in front of a tram and was killed when he was hit. Jenny was a young adult when it happened.

Nick was way out of line all week. Hands of the Royster there pal! Way to pushy getting his point across about Sam.

Than again Roy is getting sloppy with the stress of all this. How could he have a 'staff meeting' when Nina, and half the other staff, aren't even there!

What was the point of having the kids testify on the screen when they were in the same courtroom as Mason? Like I thought the whole point was so they didn't have to be near Mason at all?

And doesn't the staff still have shares in Underworld? Wouldn't Daisy and Jenny have stolen the money from practically the entire STREET! Oh man, when everyone finds out whats happened its going to be a soap opera!

The courtroom set up was ridiculous. I hope to goodness that’s not how it works in real life!

Thanks for a great recap. I missed both North of Weatherfield *and* Corrie for three weeks while in Cuba Decided not to catch up on either when I got back, and just dove back in. I can't believe Carla let both Daisy and Jenny off the hook. Carla will never see that money again unless one of them wins the lottery. You didn't mention Ryan, who clearly saw the real Daisy but it looks like after cold shouldering her for a soap nanosecond has taken her back. Really dislike Bethany since her character's return: conniving, devious. Leanne is gullible about Rowan I see. And poor Roy!

3 1/2 years since Oliver died, Nov. 2020 episodes. I know it seems like longer, but not 8 years! So Leanne still stuck in grief is reasonable l think.

Thanks so much for this podcast. I was away for two weeks and decided this was the best way to catch up on what I missed. I managed to get all my vacation laundry folded while listening to the woes of Weatherfield!! :)
