I'm one of those Coronation Street orphans, Brittlestar! Thank you for a great podcast/show! I do hope you have plans for a live show... in a cosy pub somewhere... with a special guest, perhaps... oh the possibilities...
Another great recap! Your Michael and Lauren imitations are perfect! Still do not believe the Lauren/ Bobby attraction and don't feel the redemption arc either. Shannon, I know the word brusk but I might pronounce it differently (rhyme with dusk). I agree that the main storyline with Liam overshadowed all the other ones. Aliyah seems to be everywhere all of a sudden and seems to be hiding a pregnancy. Best line from David about Wallace and Gromit - definitely a laugh out loud! But, Steve had some good ones, too - small boat - haha! Tracy is embarassing herself - can she still get pregnant?
Back to Liam - I hope there are some good recovery and repercussions coming up. Sean redeemed himself a bit with his apologies and took it well when it was only grudgingly accepted.
Hey, that wedding in Italy - was it for that Dr Death?? It's okay, it didn't happen anyways....
I cried too, this week, the acting from Liam was very convincing.
I just know that you will share some photos from the set someday - Shannon will go with you one of these trips. Thanks again!!
Aliyah? Don't you mean Miss Marples? LOL I thought that was a pretty good line as well.
The whole Liam storyline was heartbreaking and well portrayed. Sadly I think that kind of thing is becoming more common with kids and social media these days.
As much as I dislike Tracy and the way she treats Steve I am enjoying the whole Tommy O storyline. However I thought he was painting Tim and Sal's place, yet suddenly he's painting the flower shop? Right over the wallpaper I might add!
Remember when the girl bullying Bethany got a devastating haircut by David? This is the kind of comeuppance that Mason deserves, where he’s not harmed but he suffers great shame in front of his peers and goes whimpering away with his tail between his legs.
He already has a devastating haircut, so that wouldn't work. LOL. I'm assuming the actor doesn't wear it that way in real life, and it's combed like that to make him look younger, but it just looks like my son's grade 6 photo when that style was all the rage. ;)
I'm another Corrie orphan. I watch alone, but every once in a while my hubby will walk past and comment about one character or another, so I know he's paying attention occasionally. I'm hoping to convert him, but after 38 years of watching it, I don't think he's fully going to come around. lol
David had some real zingers this week, and I loved it!
Dylan needs to come clean about everything, and Mason needs to be dealt with.
I agree that the bullying episodes have been very well acted, and I can't wait to see how it all turns out.
I have the musical special, An Audience With Coronation St. It's part of a three DVD collection, along with Farewell to Mike and Family Values--The Baldwin's, Battersbys and Duckworths.
I think Mason will start in on Dylan and Dylan will get hurt. Mason will end up in the detention center with Daniel as his teacher.
As for Lauren, I do think it's a sugar daddy situation, but I agree it is somehow connected to her father.
Wasn't the Bistro so much in financial trouble that they had to take money from Damon to keep it afloat recently? But now there is enough money going around for a large destination wedding? And what did Nick do with the ring he had a couple days ago?
To be fair I think they are only paying for themselves to get to the destination - Platts have to pay their own way 😁So this may well be cheaper than sarnies in the pub for the whole street!

When talking about the cost to go to the wedding David said to Gail that she could just hop on her broom. That line made me laugh the most.

Thanks for bringing we orphans together!
Oooh I like the Mason- Daniel line. That would be a good one!
I’m an orphan too. Hubby used to watch with me when Hilda was there. He loved her. He did go on the Coronation Street tour with me though
As an orphan, l look forward to this recap every week. I think a live show in a pub would be great! I would totally be there.
