Like Emily Bishop, we’re apparently still alive but just haven’t been seen by anyone in ages.
As you may have guessed, we took a break from North of Weatherfield.
Why?
Each episode took about 10-15 hours per week to write up, record and produce.
Not to mention the money spent on production.
It was too much.
That said, we still love Coronation Street and really want to continue the podcast… but differently.
We simply can’t do detailed recaps each week.
It’s way too much work and sucked the joy out of watching the show.
We can do fun weekly chats about the show with you and others that are quite a bit looser and just fun.
We’re thinking of doing a live taping of the podcast each week, which would be recorded and then sent out as a podcast.
By ‘live taping’ we mean that subscribers could be part of the show… remotely (at least at first).
You could watch from home (or wherever), add your comments to a live chat, and hang out with other Corrie weirdos like us.
Help us figure out if this is a good idea by voting in the poll below:
I thought Brittlestar had rushed to Bethany's bedside in Turkey & that was why you were on break. 1
I'm on board for Corrie chat
Hello Shannon and Brittlestar,
I've missed your banter and chatter about Corrie but completely understand your reason for taking a step back. Podcasting is NOT easy, despite who easy you made it look. I, for one, will be on board for whatever the next iteration of "North of Weatherfield" turns out to be.
Best of luck to you,
Jackie
